What happens to your clothes at Debberies?
Many people ask me what exactly happens when they bring clothes to me. That's why I thought it would be good to write a blog about it. This way you know where your clothes end up, what I do with them, and how carefully I handle them.
You hand in your clothes.
You can enter clothing information in three ways:
- Drop it off in Goirle (by appointment)
- Send it (I'll pay for the shipping label if you have 15 items or more)
- Pick-up in the area of Goirle, Tilburg, Breda, Oisterwijk, Riel and Eindhoven
Together, we will decide whether it will be consignment or direct purchase .
Tips for shipping: Use a sturdy box or large envelope, make sure everything is clean and washed, and seal it well so the clothes arrive neatly.
I examine each piece carefully.
I check each item for:
- Cleanliness and condition
- Season and style
- Completeness (buttons, zippers, no damage)
Does it suit Debberies? Then I'll get to work on it. If it doesn't, we'll discuss what you want: return, donation to charity, or recycling. This way, your clothes always get a good destination.
Photography & Styling
Each garment is professionally photographed in daylight, with simple styling, so that color and fit are clearly visible.
After that, the items are neatly folded and stored in the warehouse until they are sold.
Prices & locations
I determine the price based on:
- Brand and original price
- Condition of the item
- What I know about my customers' preferences
Next, I post the clothes on Debberies.nl , Vinted , and Marktplaats to maximize the chance of selling them.
Each customer receives a unique customer number , so I can keep track of which items belong to you. This also makes it easy for you to find your clothes on the various sales channels.
Sales & Payment
With consignment, you receive 40% of the selling price when something is sold.
- I keep track of everything and send a monthly sales report.
- Payment can be made via bank transfer or shop credit on Debberies .
With direct purchase, you will immediately receive a price proposal and the payment will be arranged directly.
Not sold?
We will discuss unsold items together:
- Return (shipping costs at your own expense)
- Donate to a charity
- Let it sit for a while for a second chance
Tips for selling faster
- Make sure clothing is clean and tidy.
- Check zippers and buttons
- Pack shoes and accessories neatly together.
- Seasonal items sell faster
Timeline and communication
- Within one week of receipt, I will let you know which items I accept for consignment and what selling price I propose.
- Everything is carefully registered with your customer number.
Submitting items to Debberies is therefore more than just "dropping them off". I treat everything with care, because I believe that clothing deserves a second life.
