Trouser and jeans sizes explained – for men and women
Choosing the right pant size can be tricky, especially when shopping online. Pants are often indicated in EU sizes or S/M/L, and each brand fits differently. At Debberies, I want you to be able to buy with confidence every time. That's why I'm explaining everything about pant and jeans sizes here, for both men and women.
For every item on Debberies, the width (measured flat), inseam length, and total length are always stated, so you know exactly what you are buying.

How to measure your waist, hips, and length
Choosing the right size starts with measuring:
• Waist: measure at the narrowest point of your waist, just above the navel.
• Hip: measure at the widest point of your hips and buttocks.
• Inseam length: measure from the crotch to the bottom of the pant leg.
• Total length: measure from waist to bottom of the pant leg.

Jeans – extra tips
• Denim can stretch after wearing, especially cotton with stretch.
• For tight pants, like skinny jeans, it's important that both waist and hips fit well.
• Always check the width (this is always measured flat at Debberies), inseam length, and total length mentioned with the product.
• Skinny jeans often fit tighter, so measure your favorite pair for the best result.
• Pay attention to the length, especially for mid-rise and high-rise models.
Practical tips for online shopping
1. Always measure your own favorite pants as a reference.
2. Compare the style (skinny, straight, wide leg, mom fit).
3. Check the width (this is always measured flat), inseam length, and total length in the product description.
4. Pay attention to stretch: pants with elastane have more give.
5. Also check our blogs on armpit-to-armpit measurements and mini, midi, maxi lengths for skirts and dresses.
Clear dimensions make it easier to make the right choice online. That's why Debberies provides as many measurements as possible. This gives you a better idea of the fit before making a purchase. Should an item of clothing not be to your liking, a 14-day return period applies.
